Mini of the week: Dromal

Ladies & Gents, Meet Dromal

Dromal was a particularly nasty nemesis that I used back when I was still DMing. He had once been a good guy, but while on a deep cover mission his motives began to shift and he slipped into evil.

Other than cleaning some casting debris, this mini was unmodified. I only used eight paint colors on this one, which is a little low for me (I usually average about twelve or so), but I'm still happy with the results.

This was defiantly a case of the mini driving the character: after painting this on a lark I knew I had to use him. Even some of his magic items (armor that granted a stealth bonus, and an automatically returning dagger) were designed around the look of the mini.

Mini of the Week: Ogrhel

I've got a ton of fantasy minis that I've painted over the years, and although I'm not an expert, I feel that I do a fairly good job with them, and am quite proud of many of those that I've done.

So, until I run out, I'll be posting pictures of one mini a week or so. I've decided to start with the mini I'm currently using for D&D, Ogrhel.

Ogrhel is a half-orc barbarian that was left to die by the orc tribe that raised him when he refused to take part in a raid on an defenseless village. He survived, scrounged some equipment from the post battle refuse, and made his way to civilization.

The mini as manufactured had a dagger in one hand and an axe in the other. I chopped he dagger and made it into a bottle of rotgut. I also re based him, and added a shield (and accompanying strap) to his back. (I'll post a photo of his back later, I seem to have misplaced the one I had)
