Stress Reaction

So this morning I got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and discovered that I was covered in blood.

Before you freak out, don't worry. No one was stabbed, killed, or otherwise hurt, this is just my body's reaction to severe stress: A bloody nose.

I've been expecting one for the past week or so, but it doesn't make it any less scary when it happens: it's my blood, and kind of a lot of it at that. I told Sadimac what was going on, and she was an angel, as usual, making sure I had water, that I was calm, and handling the blood okay.

Between the job hunt (had a great interview yesterday, but I shall divulge no more info lest I jinx it), the current job situation (still lousy), and the added bit of fun of volunteering to be the first laid off earlier this week, it's been very trying. We also didn't play D&D this last weekend, and as it's a big stress release valve for me, that probably didn't help either.

I got the blood stopped in about 10 minutes, although I kept the nostril plugged for about an hour after that. I'm still woozy though, so I'll be taking it easy today. In fact, I should get some more protein in me right about now.

Sorry about the bloody nose. It is a family trait that both cami and I share with you. It is a pest, but it is kind of a wake up call for us. Just keep looking and stop volunteering like that. You need your job, even if it is lousy. You have our prayers as always. Mom

As soon as I read the first lines I thought "Uh oh, one of his infamous bloody noses!"

Sorry to hear you're so stressed.

Sending lots of good job vibes your way.

Nothing but fun, them bloody noses... Fingers still crossed for you about the Powell's job. And we shall relieve much stress with gaming this weekend. I think Ross and Kalvik will take Soren to see the Pit games. Then we will find things to fight!

I'm glad to read that it's a family trait. Nothing like waking up to a bathroom full of blood.
