Okay okay, I'll get in gear (or, What we did to save the world part 1)

The masses have spoken, and I have returned. Sunday mornings are a good time to write anyhow. I started writing a post about baseball for the August first, but got off track due to discovering that I am terrible at writing about sports from a commentary point of view (storytelling good, expressing views about the Boston's trade deadline moves excruciatingly bad). I have been sadly derailed since then.

I have a D&D request! Who knew! I'll gladly accommodate!

**Warning, the following is about not only D&D, but D&D with time travel. Not wheee, The Tardis can take us anywhere time travel, but oh shit, this thing is running out of charges we'll be stuck in the past forever time travel**

So the three of us, Jolene the Necromancer (Sadimac), Tobias the Sorcerer (our friend, or as Sadimac puts it, my boyfriend, Erich), and Gaerdin the Ninja (me), got caught up in traveling back to the past to destroy this anti-paladin, name of Venatris (or V for short). Erich's wife Sara is our DM, and their kids Leo & Evelyn serve as distractions, random Hobbits, and the reason why our D&D sessions feature less swearing than most normally do.

But first we kind of had to make him. The kid who became V was going to become an anti-paladin no mater what we did, so it was our job to steer him in the right direction to become less of a threat. We couldn't just kill him outright either, since his path of destruction caused a wide chain of historical events, including the founding of my character's tribe, and Gaerdin's survival mechanism was to strong to let that happen.

So , in a nutshell: By hopping around in time, we create the cult of the Beloved that V becomes a part of (Gaerdin got to be god), and gave them instructions as to where to build temples, what their duties where, where to put that secret vault of treasure, etc. Following that we found the boy who was destined to be V in an orphanage (called James at that point), and adopted him (Jolene sweet talked the orphanage staff, and Gardin blackmailed a couple of city councilpersons to make sure it went smooth). We took him down to the one of the Temples of the Beloved (the Temple of Hope), to have him raised and trained. Hope, the leader of the temple, thought that James was her son Venatris, who she had mothered through Tobias, but being the son of a bitch that he was, swapped out the kids (the actual child of Hope & Tobias turned out to be one of Jolene's direct ancestors).

To make matters even more confusing, most of these things were done at the behest of ourselves, who had hooked up with us to give us instructions at the beginning of this chain of events. Confused yet? Yeah me too.

Ah, Sadimac is stirring. We have shopping to do and a PDX Browncoats thing to go to today, so I'll wrap this for now, and get part 2 up tommorow

Excellent! I am only slightly confused, but I am pretty sure I follow what's going on. Can't wait to see what part 2 reveals!
